Call of Duty 5 Review (Xbox 360 and PS3 Versions)

Call of Duty 5 PS3 Xbox 360 Review
Here in the US, November 11, 2008 was a great day for me because the latest installment in a video game series I really enjoy was released. Call of Duty 5 (the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions) is quite simply one the best FPS games I've played to date.

Unlike it's predecessor, COD5 takes us back in time to World War II again. At first I was a little put off by this, but Treyarch has done a wonderful job of giving it the feel of COD4. This time, the focus is on the battles in Eastern Europe and the Pacific. You'll spend much of your time playing as both a Marine and a Red Army Soldier. The presentation is very well done, as the actual gameplay is broken up by real WWII footage and great narration of the events taken place. You really do have to see it to appreciate it.

In terms of gameplay, as I mentioned above, COD5 features the same great game engine as COD4. The graphics even appear to be a step up and the action is incredibly smooth and fast.

Along with the standard solo campaign, we now have a multiplayer campaign which can be played both on and off line. This is a very welcomed improvement in my opinion.

There is an adjustable difficulty like previous installments so even beginners can get into the mix without too much of a problem.

All of the weapons are real and authentic. A new addition to your arsenal is the flame thrower. It comes in especially handy for burning enemies out of trees! Also added is the gas grenade that will disorient opponents for a short while.

After completing the solo campaign, players are rewarded with a very cool Nazi Zombie game which is reminiscent of another popular video game franchise.

Conclusion - awesomeness! The best WWII shooter to date by far. This one will keep any first-person shooter fan busy for hours!
